Founded 200 years ago, before there was a public library system, The Center for Fiction is devoted to the art of Fiction. When they moved to Brooklyn in 2019, we gave them a graphic overhaul of the brand, and infiltrated their new home with a sense of stories, a sense of history, and a touch of “Brooklyn.”

Marketing and promotional material gave way to a full packaging overhaul for this client, one of particularly good taste!

The mighty Hudson has plenty of stories to tell, from it’s ever-changing shoreline, which grew outward to accommodate commerce, and then was pulled back to allow massive ocean liners room to dock. Among those liners were the Titanic, which never made it to its intended berth at Pier 54, as well as the British ship the Lusitania, at the time the largest ship in the world, which left its dock here but was sunk on its way to Liverpool. Our unique glass signs allow these and other stores to float on the Hudson once more.

Signage for 300 Park Avenue with an address made from 300 polished stainless steel cubes.

Installation commemorating the 75th anniversary of the amendment which granted women the right to vote. The text was applied to the floor of Grand Central Terminal in 9,276 point type.

This layered identity illustrates how the merging of two cultures creates a third, abbreviates a long name, and confers the authority of the Palmes Académic, originally created in 1808, and re-cut, as a boxwood engraving by Chris Wormell in 2017.

Identity and website and promotional materials for the park's conservancy

A scheme of environmental graphic for the former site of Yankee Stadium. An “indelible field” was created by drawing the outline of the ball field in the grass and infiltrating benches, paths and fences with messages. “Viewfinders were outfitted with historical photos from the park’s past.

In 2015, David Byrne recruited ten high school Color Guard teams from the U.S. and Canada to perform their synchronized dance routines with sabers, flags and rifles at Brooklyn’s Barclay’s center. These crack dance teams were paired with contemporary musicians, preforming live, including St. Vincent, Nelly Furtado, Lucius, Devonté Hynes, Zola Jesus and David Byrne himself.

For Champion, we created a line of recycled paper, distinctive in its colors, which we then relentlessly promoted by creating swag in those same colors. Gosh, I miss the eighties!

Design for Stephen Colbert’s first and second bestseller. The second book featured 3-d images, introducing “depthiness” to his publishing credentials.

In June 2018, the long-awaited SHARKS! exhibit opened at the Aquarium on the Boardwalk. We connected the design team at WCS to Ned Kahn, who created a moving installation of 33,000 aluminum “flappers” that move in the breeze and remind one of the reflections of light on the surface of the ocean. After years of work, we’re thrilled that this project welcomes and delights visitors. We collaborated with Sue Chin, the chief architect for the Wildlife Conservation Society, and Portico Group of Seattle, and Edelman,Sultan Knox Wood Architects in New York

Centura, a premium coated paper, was reintroduced to designers at an AIGA National Conference. The sign was created with cuts and folds, with cut and scored sheets stacked in front for the taking.

Promotion, banners and even a microwaveable popcorn invitation package for this fun summer event.

Caretaker of over 23 historic houses in the five boroughs of New York. Our design program unifies a diverse architectural collection, with a fold-up map that tells the stories of each house, individual information cards for each site, and a “passport” for students to get stamped as they visit each house.

We created this artwork, “Color Library” with 57 canvases for the lobby of 90 Park Avenue as well as the light feature in collaboration with MdeAS Architects for our client, Vornado Realty Trust.

Doyle Partners is an award-winning New York City studio with a broad range of internationally recognized accomplishments on behalf of its clients. In 2010, Stephen Doyle was the recipient of the National Design Award for Communication, recognizing his 25 years of achievement and leadership in the field. Elected to the Alliance Graphique Internationale in 1995 and in 1999, he was awarded the prestigious Augustus Saint-Gaudens Award from his alma mater, The Cooper Union. in 2014 Doyle received the AIGA Medal. In addition, Doyle Partners has received numerous awards from: Art Director’s Club, AIGA, American Center for Design, Communication Arts Magazine, Design & Art Direction (Great Britain), Grammy Nomination, Graphis Design Annual, Hong Kong Poster Triennial, ID Magazine, Korea Poster Biennial , NYC Public Design Commission Excellence in Design Awards, Print Magazine, The Type Director’s Club, Tokyo Type Directors Club, Society of Publication Designers among others

Signage designed for the exterior and lobby of 1221 Avenue of the Americas in collaboration with MdeAS Architects for our client, The Rockefeller Group.

On the occasion of the centennial of World War I, all eleven novels of the acclaimed author Erich Maria Remarque were reissued, starting with his international classic and masterpiece All Quiet on the Western Front.

What a game-changer…the graphic success of which owed more to its consistent point of view than any particular design vocabulary. Through its run, the magazine underwent a relentless examination of graphics and content that kept it fresh and cheery through years of being imitated.
